Episode 65: A Sweet Face and Super Power?! Android 18 Vs. Vegeta!

A few minutes into the episode Vegeta and #18 begin their fight. A punch to Android #18’s face was edited with a flash screen…

A few moments later, a trucker drives down the road where Vegeta and #18 are fighting. He stops and yells to them…

Vegeta just blast the truck. In the TV and in the uncut version we hear the trucker say “dude, my truck!” This had to be a TV edited line that somehow slipped into the uncut version. The trucker would obviously be dead at this point. Unless… he’s an android too! DUN DUN DUN!

Vegeta and #18 resume their fight. #18 rushes Vegeta and head butts him in the head. There is a bit of blood on his head that is edited out here in the TV version…

Then the following shot of the blood dripping down his face was cut out completely…

In the next shot, Vegeta turns his face and the blood splashes off. In the Nicktoons version the blood is edited out. It would have been so much easier to just cut this shot out like the previous one. Whoever had to edit this shot really had their work cut out for them. There are little tiny blood spats that he had to digitally remove on each from of animation!

The blood editing stops a few moments later when #18 punches Vegeta into a mountain. When he walks out, the blood is gone.

The rest of the Z Warriors catch up to Vegeta and Trunks yells that they have to retreat before adding…

#18 tells Vegeta he should probably leave. Vegeta says he would never do that then adds that if he had a choice to fight alongside the Namekian, the Earthlings or Kakarrot…

#17 chimes in and tells Vegeta his friends seem to honor the warrior’s code. If they join in the fight then he will join in as well. Vegeta and #18 then continue their battle. There is a slight edit a few minutes later when Vegeta tries to back away from #18; she bashes him in the face with her arm.

Then a punch to the face was edited out but the sound effect is there. It was just replaced with a shot of Trunks and Krillin looking on (which is the next shot we see in the uncut version after the punch). If the sound effect wasn’t there I’d say it was a cut. But since the sound effect is there I guess they want you to know #18 punched Vegeta, because in the next shot we see of Vegeta he is flying toward a rock.

As Vegeta lands besides the rock, Trunks says…

Vegeta then rushes towards #18 but gets kicked in the neck. This was edited with a flash screen…

#18 then kicks Vegeta in the arm, breaking it. In the next shot Vegeta has blood all over his face. It wasn’t present before because originally in Dragon Ball Z this was the beginning of a new episode, so the animation studio is different for the rest of the episode. The blood edit continues for a few scenes after this.

Seeing his Dad is in trouble, Trunks swoops down only to get his sword broken and a beat down from #17 whom since joined in since Trunks did the same. Piccolo and Tien follow and rush into battle…

Piccolo is down with one kick and Tien gets caught in a head lock by #17. There is a slight cut here of Tien…

Vegeta tries to attack #18 but only gets tossed to the ground again. #18 then steps on Vegeta’s tail bone. This was cut out of the TV version…

#18 then says she should disable Vegeta’s other arm. She steps on his good arm and presses down breaking it. The shot of #18 actually stepping down onto his arm is edited out of the TV version…

Now that Krillin is the only one left who wasn’t beat half to death, the androids approach him. Krillin says he’s not going down without a fight. #17 says to him…

A few moments later, before the androids fly off, Krillin asks what their purpose is.

#17 for now it’s beating Goku. After that they’ll see. Krillin adds…

#17 tells Krillin it has nothing to do with Dr. Gero. It’s a game and the hunt is the best part of this game. He then goes on…

Krillin asks if they could just stop playing this game and walk away. #16 chimes in…

Before the androids fly off to find Goku, #17 tells Krillin…

And the episode ends soon after!
