As the episode starts, Vegeta is still laying on the floor recovering from Cell’s attack. He can’t belive he’s become so useless and says to himself…
Before we go any further, I should mention the blood edits for this episode. It’s mostly on Gohan since his blood is edited in every shot he’s in. Vegeta doesn’t have blood on him after the commercial break so it’s only edited in the first part of the episode. And Trunks’ only has blood on him sometimes – but when he does, obviously it’s edited…
There is a shot of Gohan that seemed to be removed for no good reason here. I don’t see the point. He’s just standing there doing nothing…
Gohan tells Cell that he’s basically giving up. He knows he can’t win. Cell powers up a Kamehameha and says to Gohan…
As Cell ready’s his blast, Goku telepathically reaches Gohan through King Kai and tells him not to give up, he’s the strongest person in the Universe right now! Goku goes on to tell his son not to worry about his fate. Gohan replies…
And so, Gohan charges up his own Kamehameha. Piccolo is heard off screen saying to himself…
Before the two fire their blast at each other, Cell yells…
This scene happens once more when we come back from the commercial break. The wording was just a tad different this time around…
And so, the two fire their blast at each other creating a power struggle. Gohan is feeling a little lacking but Goku chimes in reminding his son how powerful he really is…
There’s a point here where Cell’s blast seems to over power Gohans for a bit. Gohan yells “impossible”! but for some reason in the TV version the audio of Gohan saying that was moved to a shot of the two blasts instead of a close up shot (2 seconds) of Gohan actually saying it.
Feeling helpless, Piccolo tries to help Gohan but is easily knocked away. When he gets up he says to himself…
Krillin yells to himself that Piccolo was crazy to go charging in like that. Tien tells Krillin that Piccolo knew he couldn’t do anything. He goes on to ask Krillin…
And with that. Krillin, Tien and Yamcha fly off to try and help Gohan. As Vegeta see’s them fly by, he says to himself…
The four attack Cell but with no effect. Cell blasts the four of them away with ease. Piccolo gets up and says to himself…
Tien goes on to thank Goku in his head for making him a better person, he continues…
The four warriors repeatedly get blown away by Cell, but keep getting back up. Cell yells to them…
A few moments later Vegeta throws a powerful blast at Cell. It wasn’t enough to hurt Cell, but enough to distract him. At that moment Goku yells to Gohan “now”! Gohan gives his Kamehameha everything he has and it over powers Cell’s blast. When the blast hits Cell’s body, he starts to disintegrate. A few seconds were edited out here…
a few seconds later, we see Cell’s cells ripping apart and getting destroyed by the blast. This too was edited out…
And so, Cell has been destroyed. Gohan lays on the floor catching his breath as he is surrounded by his friends. The episode ends soon after.
