Episode 78: Cell on the Verge of Defeat! Krillin, Destroy Android 18!

During the recap we have a minor edit. It’s the same edit in the previous episode so there’s no real surprise here…

The episode starts soon after…

We begin in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Gohan is struggling with becoming a Super Saiyan, Goku tells his son…

When Gohan tells his dad he’s never seen Cell, Goku tells him to just imagine Freeza instead. We then see some flashbacks of Dende getting killed. One shot was left in while another shot was left out. A little odd…

Just for good measure, this is the shot they left in…

Another shot during the flashback shows Piccolo getting a beam to the chest. This was edited in the same manner as it was in the episode it originally aired…

Meanwhile Vegeta and Cell are exchanging insults back and forth as Android 18 and 16 look on. Most of shots of Android 16 in this episode (like in the previous episodes) are edited for blood (oil?)…

Cell grows angry listening to Vegeta’s banter and clenches his fist so hard he makes himself bleed…

Cell is baffled as to why Vegeta is stronger and for that matter, how is he still alive in this time line? Cell yells to Vegeta…

Cell blast Vegeta, when the smoke clears Cell some how has blood on his mouth…

Seeing Vegeta unfazed by the last attack Cell powers up and yells…

Cell tries attacking Vegeta with his tail but Vegeta kicks his right in the face…

Cell gets pummeled by Vegeta with ease. After the attacks Cell catches his breath and thinks to himself…

Vegeta goes on to tell Cell he’s not even a challenge. Cell knows if he was perfect he would have the upper hand. Cell yells…

Meanwhile, Krillin struggles with his decision. Should he switch off Android 18 or not? He thinks to himself…

Ultimately he decides not to go through with it. The episode ends soon after that.

In the preview fo the next episode, Android 18 says “I can’t die yet, I have so much shopping to do”. In the TV version “die” was changed to “go”.
