Episode 58: Goku’s New Move, Instant Transmission! The Three-Year Training Session Begins!

As the episode starts, Vegeta asks Goku how he made it off Namek. Goku goes on to tell. There are some blood edits…

A dialogue edit occurs during Goku’s voice over during the flashback…

Then a dialogue edit while he’s trying to make the space craft work…

And the last edit during the flash back, another line changed when Goku’s crash lands on Yardrat…

Once Vegeta hears Goku’s been to Yadrat he yells to Goku to show him what he learned…

Moments later everyone starts talking about the androids and what they’re gonna do to prepare. Bulma tells everyone they could just use the DragonBalls to find Dr. Gero and just stop him before he does anything. When the Saiyans disagree with her, she freaks out a bit and says…

Then a few moments later adds…

Tenshinhan says he needs to fight the androids as well so he could see what he’s made out of. Then adds…

So, it’s decided! They will meet in three years to fight the androids. Everyone goes off their own separate ways to start training.

Krillin goes to Roshi’s island where he returns his sun glasses Goku took from him while demonstrating the Instant Transmission. Roshi grabs them, plops in his chair and starts reading his girly magazine. The cover was changed in the TV version…

Roshi then yells out…

Krillin tries to get Roshi’s attention but he’s too distracted by his magazine. As we see a far shot of Kame House, we hear Krillin say…

That was only on the uncut version; there is no alternate TV line for it.

Next we see what Vegeta’s up to. He demands Dr. Brief to make a gravity room greater than Goku’s was. The doctor’s cigarette was edited out of this scene…

The next scene shows what Goku and Gohan are doing. Goku has just told Chi-Chi he needs to train Gohan for when the androids arrive. Chi-Chi isn’t having this at all. When Goku asks if Gohan’s studies are more important than the fate of the Earth? Chi-Chi answers…

Then moments later adds…

Goku, thinking it’s a joke lightly slaps Chi-Chi on the shoulder and she gets knocked through a wall, through a tree and into a rock. Now, I’m not saying Chi-Chi is scared of Goku’s “domestic abuse” but, after this she all of a sudden changed her mind about Gohan training. Oh and that whole scene was cut out of the TV version.

And a few moments later we see Goku, Piccolo and Gohan training. There is a shot of Goku punching Gohan that was edited out. It happens so fast though; it’s not a big loss at all…

Back at Capsule Corp. Vegeta starts his training in 300 times Earth’s gravity. Long story short: the ship blows up severely injuring Vegeta. Bulma and Yamcha rush to the ship and Vegeta pops out. Bulma yells…

Also, all of Vegeta’s blood is edited out from here on out…

Bulma takes Vegeta into the house where he is hooked up to some hospital looking equipment. Doctor Brief is in this scene so, as usual his cigarette is edited out.

Moments later we see what Krillins up to. As Krillin fires up a KaMeHaMeHa, Roshi is looking at one of his girly magazines…

A few moments later he adds…

Oh, and yes, those magazines are edited in the TV version…

Krillin just ignores him and carries on. Next we return to Goku, Piccolo and Gohan’s training. There is a slight blood edit when Piccolo punches the air and a small splash of Goku’s blood appears (not shown) followed by a pan out shot of Goku and Piccolo with a little blood on their faces…

Back at Capsule Corp. Yamcha looks into where Vegeta is training and thinks it’s about time he took his training seriously. He turns to Puar and says…

The episode ends soon after that.
